How soon should I book my newborn session?

We all know that babies don’t generally come on time, so booking a solid date doesn’t work, however knowing your due date and booking in ahead of time allows me to leave open days to capture your little one within the preferred window. I suggest booking as soon as your first trimester is complete. Newborn sessions take place between 4-14 days old. Contact me as soon as you are able after baby arrives!

How did you learn all the things you do?

Truthfully, like many other photographers I am self-taught! When my daughter was born I photographed her, and then started convincing my close friends to let me photograph them. From there I did many ads on classifieds for FREE photos for probably a year, I got tons of experience from doing this and that is what I think has taught me the most.
I was also part of an online weekly photography contest. I just played a LOT. I read, I tried, and I put myself out there. Eventually it just all came together. I have also learned many things from other photographers, and some of my best friends are photographers, too!
It never gets old and, I can honestly say I am still learning every single day.

Tips & Tricks

1. Try to make a date of it! Have fun, let go of expectations and worrying about the “perfect shot” That’s my job!

3. Always wear clothing that you’re comfortable in, but I will be a neutral girl until the day I die. Never worry about “blending in to the scenery” We never want the clothing to be the focus so soft neutral clothes allow the focus to be on the subjects.

4. Don’t forget your retainer to book in your session date.
